OMAGH JUNIOR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP
Presented by Omagh Junior Chamber of Commerce to be awarded
to the Champion of Open Show Pony Ridden Classes. Class E44

 

TYRONE FARMING SOCIETY PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP
Presented by the Society to replace the Fred Johnston Memorial Silver Challenge Cup, which was won outright. To be awarded for the Best Pony exhibited in the Lead Rein Classes E35 and E36

 

KING OF THE WIND PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP
Presented by Mrs Patricia McKean, Loughanmore, Antrim
To be awarded to the winner of 148 cm Ridden Class.  Class E43

 

R J MONTEITH PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP
Presented by Heather Clements, Pauline McLaren and Marina Wray, in memory of their father. Awarded to the Ridden Connemara Champion.  Class E45

Competing in Lead Rein Classes
1. No child under the age of 3 years may compete.
2. In Lead Rein classes the handler must be 16 years old or over and the pony should be on a loose rein.
3.Trotting will be required.
4. Riders in the Leading Rein Class may compete in the First Ridden Class.
5. Ponies must be shown in snaffle bridles.
6. In Lead Rein Classes the rein MUST go directly from the bit to the rider's hand, with no extra aid or attachment to or on the saddle. The reins must be of normal length and not knotted or stitched together at a shorter length.
7. In Lead Rein classes handles on saddles are permitted but the reins MUST NOT be attached to the handle or to the saddle.
8. The handler MUST affix the lead rein to the NOSEBAND where it must remain while the pony is in the ring. The lead rein should never be attached to the bit.
9. Whilst in the ring ponies must be led at all times by the handler. 
10. Riders in Lead Rein classes will not be asked to dismount, and ponies will not be stripped.
11. Cantering is not allowed
