As Tyrone Farming Society Members prepare for their 179th Annual Show in 2019, they can celebrate a proud history dating back to 1832. Information available about the Society’s history was captured in a History Book to mark its 175 year in operation. The book was compiled by Miss Emma Stewart, a local reporter. Copies are available from the Show Office at a cost of £15. The book makes interesting reading and it encapsulates the changing face of agriculture and local society throughout the period of 175 years. The Society continues to evolve to best represent the local farming community and cater for the demands of the time. It is currently vibrant and well placed in an extensive purpose built site on the Drumquin Road, approximately two miles from Omagh.
